Dec 2, 2020 · Master System is worth owning, lots of good games, plus it's pretty iconic. With that said, I'd probably just get a Mega Sg from Analogue to play the Master System games, the system is pretty large, they're also old so it's a good idea to replace all the capacitors (I'd advise this for all Sega systems since they tend to leak).

Aug 28, 2022 · The Sega Mark III had an FM Sound Unit add-on which was natively built into the Sega Master System console that eventually released in Japan as well. Curiously, the FM Sound capabilities were stripped out of the overseas models of the Master System-- so we only had PSG audio for Master System games in the West.

May 17, 2020 · Sega was always great at bios screens, the Sega CD US Model 2 bios is probably my favorite of theirs: But the JPN SMS Bios is probably the most SEGA start screen ever. For comparison, the normal Space Harrier SMS music using the PSG only: The Japanese SMS has the FM Unit built in, unlike the Mark III, hence the bios screen.
