Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Monday filed a lawsuit seeking to void the final rule classifying the dunes sagebrush lizard as endangered. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Midland and names the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Biden Administration officials.

The dunes sagebrush lizard have lost more than 95% of their habitat to sand mining and oil and gas development, officials say.
