In most cases, a First Alert Weather Day is declared days in advance of severe weather, whether it’s hazardous wind, hail, or flooding. In this case, winter weather could be bringing dangerous conditions to our area. Make sure to have a way of being alerted in the event a warning is issued for your location.

The wind will be westerly at 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. The First Alert Weather Day will still be in place.

Because of the cold front that came through last night, air temperatures are starting out in the single digits with wind chills as low as -10° to -20° out the door this morning. This afternoon, wind chills will hover between 0° to -5°. Air temps will top out between 10-15° this afternoon. Today will be considerably more sunny than yesterday.

As the first month of 2025 comes to a close, and what a cold month it has been, warmer weather is in store for February. The second month of the year is expected to bring warmer days with it. The monthly temperature outlook has been released, and all of Eastern Kentucky is expected to experience slightly above-normal temperatures.

The First Alert Weather Team says heavy snow has impacted much of the Deep South through Tuesday from New Orleans to Pensacola.

Monday will feature our coldest highs of the week; Tuesday morning is when we will have our coldest wind chills overall.

Snow continues through 6-7 a.m. for most of SE Georgia. Some wintry mix is possible through 8-9 a.m. for JAX metro.

A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Tuesday and into Wednesday morning as a rare Winter Storm Warning has been issued beginning Tuesday afternoon across much of our area.

The Winter storm continues to impact South Georgia.Still, some icy conditions are expected as snow continues to accumulate in some South Georgia counties.Several counties have reported hazardous conditions.
