Hezbollah has fired projectiles targeting areas farther into Israeli territory than the majority previous strikes on Sunday, with the last 48 hours bringing the most intense exchanges of fire between Israel and the Lebanese militant group since October 7.

Hezbollah launched more than 100 rockets early Sunday across northern Israel, with some landing near the city of Haifa, as Israel launched hundreds of strikes on Lebanon.

Hezbollah said it fired dozens of missiles into an air base in southeast Haifa as a retaliatory move after a series of attacks from Israel killed dozens of people in Lebanon last week, according to reports.
