On Saturday, Larry Rhoden received Kristi Noem’s resignation as Governor immediately following the US Senate’s vote to confirm Noem as Homeland Security Secretary. Rhoden is now the 34th Governor of South Dakota pursuant to Article 4 Section 6 of the South Dakota Constitution.
“This budget proposal provides the resources needed for the office to protect the people of South Dakota,” Attorney General Jackley told the Legislative Joint Appropriations Committee. “We appreciate the support of the Governor for including our proposals in the overall budget request, and we are requesting legislative support.”
