Bowen Yang and comedian Dave Chappelle appeared to have reconciled at the end of the latest Saturday Night Live (SNL) episode, hugging each other.

Netflix has had a strong year for awards season elsewhere this year. For the Emmys, it received 107 nominations across 35 titles, winning 24 awards. At the Golden Globes, it received 36 nominations and won 7 awards. Most recently, Netflix earned 15 BAFTA film nominations, with winners yet to be announced.

Actors Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards. Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez,” the Netflix narco-musical about transgender identity, scored 13 nominations.

Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Comedian Bowen Yang and actress Rachel Sennott are set to share the Oscar nominations on Thursday. In a social media post Tuesday, The Academy shared that the pair will announce Oscar nominations at 8:30 a.m. EST.

Polarizing but acclaimed “Emilia Pérez,” scored nods including best picture and a best actress nomination for star Karla Sofía Gascón. Gascón has now made history as the first openly transgender actor to ever score an Oscar nomination.

The 2025 Oscar nominations are set to be announced at 8:30am ET (1:30pm GMT) on Thursday (January 23). This year’s nominees will be revealed during a live broadcast presented by Bottoms actor Rachel Sennott and SNL star Bowen Yang from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Viewers can tune in on the Oscars website or Hulu.

Emilia Pérez raked in the most nominations Thursday morning, followed by The Brutalist and Wicked. The Academy Awards are scheduled for Sunday, March 2.
