The 18th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane was likely to flood parts of Central America and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula over the coming days.

Tropical Storm Sara has formed on a path toward Honduras and is expected to bring “life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides” to parts of the country, the National Hurricane Center warned.

Even with the storm’s uncertainty, forecasters asked residents to continue to monitor the storm and to get a hurricane plan in place.
