The Golden State Warriors completed a trade for Jimmy Butler late on Wednesday night, and after the team’s 131-128 loss to the Utah Jazz, Stephen Curry spoke on his reaction to adding a new running mate.

“Kevon Looney described seeing many of his teammates traded less than an hour before the game as ‘bitter,'” according to ESPN Ohm’s Youngmisuk. “He said he expects Jimmy Butler to come in and have an impact and will be a lot of fun playing alongside him.

Jimmy Butler wanted out of Miami, both for validation and a contract extension, while the Warriors needed a co-star for Steph Curry after failing to lure Kevin Durant back.

The mercurial star goes to Golden State — and agrees to a contract extension — to form a veteran core with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

The Warriors had concerns over Jimmy Butler's fit within Golden State's locker room. In the end, his talent proved too enticing to ignore.
