EA is officially shutting down the old and creaky Origin PC app because it runs on such old code Windows no longer supports it.

EA will shut down its Origin app on April 17, 2025, due to the end of Microsoft's support for 32-bit software. Origin users are asked to switch to the EA app, which requires a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or 11,

Now, however, EA has said Origins will no longer be available come 17th April. The reason for the shut down is that “Microsoft has stopped supporting 32-bit software”. As such, users will have to download the EA app but the publisher notes that this requires a 64-bit version of Windows and, naturally, hardware that supports 64-bit software.
