With the arrest warrant for impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol expiring on Monday, the South Korean anti-corruption agency asked police to detain the embattled leader.

Dozens of anti-corruption agency investigators and assisting police officers attempted to detain the impeached president on Friday but retreated from his residence in Seoul after a tense five-hour standoff with the presidential security service.

Suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol remains at his Seoul residence after last week's failed attempt to detain him. Meanwhile, Antony Blinken is holding talks with his South Korean counterpart, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul.
