The Drake football team lost to South Dakota 42-3 on Saturday in Vermillion, S.D. Shane Dunning accounted for the Bulldogs' only points with a 23-yard field goal in the second quarter. Luke Bailey was 16-of-29 passing for 107 yards in the loss. He was intercepted once and sacked twice.

VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota football closed out its non-conference schedule with a bang on Saturday afternoon, defeating Drake 42-3. The Coyotes (2-1) took control of the game almost immediately as Keyondray Jones-Logan ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. It marked his second score from a kickoff return in three games.

The Bulldogs opened the season with an impressive road victory at Eastern Washington and now head to Vermillion with a full week of rest under their belt. Nielson complimented Drake and specifically pointed out their experience as a driving force of the team.
