Manchester City have signed defender Vitor Reis from Brazilian Serie A side Palmeiras on a four-and-a-half-year contract, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.

Premier League champions Manchester City have completed the signing of teenage defender Vitor Reis in a £29.6m move from Palmeiras.

MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City signed a second defender in two days, this time 19-year-old Vitor Reis from Palmeiras for 35 million euros ($36 million) on Tuesday. Lens' Abdukodir Khusanov signed on Monday for a 4 1/2-year contract. The length of Reis' contract wasn't given.

Vitor Reis became the latest player to secure a big money move to Europe from Palmeiras after completing his move to Manchester City.

Palmeiras have not registered Vitor Reis for the 2025 Campeonato Paulista with the teenage defender expected to join Manchester City.

Brazilian media sources state City have now tabled a first bid of €40m to Palmeiras for Reis. City's offer was made on Friday. They hope to close an agreement for the 18 year-old and bring him to England this month.

Yesterday saw Manchester City announce the signing of Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens. Today the Premier League champions have followed that announcement by announcing the signing of Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.
