San Mateo County's embattled sheriff has filed legal documents for a $10 million claim against county officials who are calling for her resignation.

The controversy surrounding San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus is continuing into the new year. A report against the sheriff was released last year which followed calls for her to resign. The sheriff is now countering with a complaint against the county that claims discrimination.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's implemented a "temporary fix" to get its dispatch system back online after it crashed on New Year's Eve, authorities said.

Deputies can once again receive calls for service through their patrol car computers, according to a Friday statement from the department.

Testing continues on the sheriff’s dispatch system, which went down a few hours before midnight on New Year’s Eve. Deputies are using pen and paper while the 38-year-old system is repaired.
