The Colorado Springs Police Department said a Tesla High School Resource Officer responded to a local hospital to investigate a suspicious circumstance involving a minor.

A juvenile stole a gun from a family member's vehicle, put it in their backpack and left for school Monday morning, before their family contacted them and recovered the gun prior to it reaching the campus,
