A great day trip destination. Lots of narrow winding streets and interesting restaurants and shops to check out but beware, this is a very touristy location with lots of cheap souvenirs. Full review by 2x2wheel

Is the light show done on every night in San Sebastian de Bernal, or just on the weekends? Are stores/restuarants closed on Mondays as they are in Queretaro? Thanks!
A:
Yes, weekends only. Most are not, some are. Get a hotel room facing the mountain.
Hola! We plan to take a day trip, by car, to La Pena de Bernal. Is there anything of interest along the way? What is the best, most scenic route, from San Miguel de Allende and how long does it take to get there by car. Gracias!

Hi Lisa! There is actually a new highway from San Miguel de Allende to Queretaro that can reduce travel time up to 50 minutes...from the detour you can enter the road to Peña de Bernal from San Juan del Rio or Tequisquiapan. Also before reaching la Peña there is a small town called Ezequiel Montes where you can find wineyards and cheese factories. Some of the most popular wineyards are La Redonda, or Freixenet, but if you want some quality wine go to Bodegas de Cote. It is an exclusive wineyard and really beautiful too.

Are there organized tours from Queretaro? What is the cost? Approximately how long does the tour last?
A:
Some fellow hotel guests and I joined forces and hired a driver to take us there and back. There were no tours as far as I knew or know. But don't miss it if possible.
